Managing Archives

PC-lint Plus View administrators have the possibility to archive projects that are no longer in use on a day-to-day basis.

Projects can be archived from the Administration>Projects page, individually from each project sandwich menu or several at a time using the bulk action buttons.

Once archived, the archives files are visible in the Administration>Archives page, which shows the list of available archives files stored in the archives folder.

The list of archives files is automatically generated from the content of the archives folder, therefore you can manually add/remove archives files from this folder when logged in onto the host machine.

The archives folder location can be configured in the <PCLPVIEW_HOME>/config.xml file. See the Understanding the config.xml File section to know more.

Archives files are not included in PC-lint Plus View backup, in order to not unreasonably increase the backup size.

Archiving projects will allow for a lighter PC-lint Plus View server, once these projects are removed, while keeping them safely on a long term storage support for later reuse if necessary.
